I plan on attending college to become either a teacher or a Physicians Assistant. In college, I will challenge myself to navigate career paths during college in order to find a successful career. Following college, I hope to start a family and spend as much time as I can with loved ones.

North Hills Senior High School, 11

I plan to attend university to major in both elementary education and secondary education in history. I’ve been blessed with many teachers who have challenged, encouraged, and helped me to succeed as a student and as a person, and I’d like to be that kind of teacher for others. I especially hope to be an educator who supports students who struggle and who gives them opportunities to cope, to be hopeful, and to be prepared for the future.

Greater Latrobe Senior High School, 11

Next year I plan to shadow different medical careers through the Allied Health Program. I’m excited to follow occupational and physical therapists, as these are my current interests. I hope to discover what I like best through this program and that will help lead me to a course of study in college and a career that will allow me to continue to grow and learn. I am also determined to continue my education in Spanish and I would like to learn another language if I have the opportunity.

McKlveen, Lachlan

The Kiski School, 12

To attend Florida Tech and major in Aerospace Engineering. I hope that one day I will work for a major aerospace company with the likes of Lockheed Martin or Northrop Gruman. Along the way, I hope to get my pilot’s license to allow me to explore the world. To continue to give back to my community through volunteering with Boy Scouts of America and also volunteering with the DCNR to promote the conservation of the outdoors.

East Allegheny High School, 12

After graduation, I will be attending Seton Hill University in fall of 2023 to pursue a degree in the Musical Theatre BFA Program. This summer I am looking forward to furthering my experience in theatre with the Pittsburgh CLO as an assistant to the Property Coordinator for the 2023 season. This fall, I plan to reach out to the EASD music department staff to support the implementation of a junior musical theatre program to give younger students the opportunity to express themselves creatively.

Sewickley Academy, 12

My passion for science and global studies has provided me with in-depth knowledge and diverse perspectives that have influenced my future goals. By studying neuroscience and global health in college, I plan to join the fight for global health equity. Although medical research has given us many resources to prevent, manage, and cure diseases, the distribution of these is highly inequitable. I plan to use the tools I have and the ones I gain to make a change in the global healthcare system.

I attend to be a part of the Duquesne community. I plan to go to their college for Pre-Pharmacy, and then move on to get my doctor’s degree, as well as my bachelor’s in science. I have managed to get my yearly cost down to under $25,000, and am proud to hopefully one day be apart of the medical field.

I have been accepted to West Virginia University. In the fall of 2023 I will study mechanical engineering. I plan on joining numerous clubs and the local rotary club. I also want to become a Residential Advisor staring my sophomore year. I’d like to referee youth soccer and start up one-on-one goalie training sessions. Over the summers I hope to have internships with Westinghouse, which could potentially lead to a job offer after graduating in 2027.

I will be attending Slippery Rock University Honors College majoring in Biology, a concentration in Medical Technology with a minor in Forensic Science and of course participating in their marching band; The long term goal is to work in the Medical Examiner’s office, a hospital lab or with the Center for Organ Recovery and Education. I will continue my community service projects with Military Connections supporting my Airman brother and all deployed troops.

My future plans include attending The University of Iowa (Fight Hawks Fight) majoring in Education with a minor in German. I am also a D1 recruit to the University of Iowa for cheerleading and you will find me on the sidelines inside Kinnick Stadium in the fall of 2024!

My future plans are to attend The Pennsylvania State University in the Fall of 2023 to obtain a degree in Secondary Education with a minor in Business. I would like to continue my volleyball career as a club volleyball player and/or as a manager of the volleyball team.

I will be attending Seton Hill this fall to earn a degree in Art Education. To teach art is to teach young people how to love the world, and my plan is to help foster a more hopeful and empathetic generation. After I graduate I plan to further develop my skills as a teacher by earning a Masters degree in Education. In my community, I have and will continue to create opportunities that give people the ability to learn what they love doing and pursue it.

My future plans are to attend Gannon University to major in Biology. Upon graduation, I will attend LECOM Dental School in Bradenton, Florida, where I have already been accepted into the early assurance program. When I obtain my dental degree focusing on pediatrics, I will move to the Appalachian Region of our country to provide free dental care for children in need.

Teachers have superpowers that convince children they can do hard things. I will become an early childhood educator so I can use my personal strengths to bring out those in the littlest of learners. After graduation, I will be pursuing a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at Pennsylvania State University at University Park, a path that was inspired by the special teachers who taught me the power of “YET” to stay focused on my goals.

Hi! I plan to go college (hopefully University of Toronto) and pursue something somewhere in between biology and chemistry since I’m quite fond of. my academics. At the moment I would love to be a botanist or horticulturalist. Ideally I’ll be able to find some more activities like the ones I do for school after I graduate. I plan to keep volunteering like I do for the WCEA and BBWSTC because I enjoy seeing the impact it can make on the people around me.

I am an inventor personality with a desire to create things that help people. I want to study mechanical engineering with the hopes of becoming a Robotics Engineer. I have a desire to develop robotic hardware and technology that can help in the critical field of search and rescue efforts. I love to listen to, learn and perform music, and I hope to continue in the areas of music appreciation and enjoyment, in listening, performance, recording, and music production. After college, I will join the Army as an officer, and hopefully participate in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Then, I plan to work as a corporate lawyer and raise a family here in Pittsburgh.

I have been accepted into Penn State’s honors program and plan to attend the Behrend campus to pursue a career in Plastics Engineering Technology. My future goal is to use my degree to land my dream job working for Toyota automotive. I would like to continue providing my time while in college to the various outlets that are in need of volunteers, one being the Lion Ambassadors. Other goals for my future while at Penn State include becoming a Resident Assistant for dorm student living.
