Volunteering means more to me than just helping the community and other people. I feel it is my duty as a citizen to contribute my time and knowledge to help others and the community. I have participated in many different forms of community service from working events to building a fishing dock for my Eagle Scout project. For me the best volunteer work is Eagle scout projects, whether it was mine or someone else’s because these projects help transform scouts to well rounded citizens who will continue a life of service. Helping fellow scouts through this step in their lives makes these service hours special to me because others were there helping me when I did my Eagle project. I find my volunteerism to be less a chore but more a learning experience where volunteers learn good citizenship and discipline. As a volunteer we enable bigger and better things from the organization because each volunteer’s contribution makes a great change. Volunteering has changed my life drastically for the better. For example, as an Eagle scout the volunteer work I put in for my project and other scouting service taught me a lot about planning, organization, networking, and communication. As an Eagle Scout, I dedicate my life to be a good citizen and offer as much service to my community and country as possible. Through my service I believe I made life easier and better for many other people. Through many times participating in work such as scouting for food, stuff a bus, and the ride for homeless veterans I have been able to help many people much less fortunate than myself. I don’t plan on my community service to come to a halt as I continue to the next step in life instead it will be the starting point of my service career. I fully plan to continue my service through college and further into life. Continuing on this journey will continue to teach and open doors for me as I progress through life. I think the service I have done has laid a nice foundation for me to continue into this way of life into being an adult. The service I have done now will continue to build my knowledge and help me grow as a person and a citizen.
