Academic Achievement

I am an honor roll student with a 4.0 GPA, and was elected President of the National Honor Society my junior year. As President, I have advertised for “GS Threads”, my school’s clothing donation program. GS Threads offers a wide variety of clothes, shoes and accessories to any student free of charge. I run an Instagram account for the program along with our chapter’s Vice President. We use the platform to show students the clothes we have, while also promoting other National Honor Society fundraisers. Additionally, I graduated from the Kennametal Young Engineers program in the January. Also, I earned 3rd place at the Greensburg Area Science Program (GASP) Science Fair for researching how different substances affect the growth of freshwater algae., Awardee – 1 Year

Extracurricular Activities

I have been a member of the cross country team for 4 years, earning 4 varsity letters. I helped lead the team as co-captain during the 2021 season., Co-Captain – 4 Years
I have been running distance for the track and field team for 4 years., Member – 4 Years
I have been a member of the Physics Club since my freshman year, and have been secretary for 2 years., Secretary – 4 Years
I am passionate about the ocean and have earned certifications in open-water, advanced and Nitrox scuba diving., Scuba Diver – 4 Years

Community Involvement

As a Mini-THON volunteer, I have helped the team raise money for pediatric cancer., Volunteer – 3 Years
As a member of the Interact Club, I have been able to volunteer for organizations like the Westmoreland County Food Bank and the Salvation Army., Member – 5 Years
I have been a member of the Student Council Association for 4 years, and have been an Executive Committee member for 3 years. Through SCA, I have volunteered in the community and helped to plan activities to enhance the student experience., Executive Committee Member – 3 Years
I have been working to make Greensburg Salem High School more “green” by revamping the recycling program. Currently, students are only allowed to recycle paper in most classrooms due to the fees and regulations associated with recycling plastic. However, I am planning to collect plastics separately and take them to a facility where they can be recycled., Recycling Collector – 1 Year
As an employee of the Pittsburgh Barbecue Company, I prepare orders, serve customers, and cater weddings., Employee – 2 Years

Plans

After graduating high school, I plan on attending a coastal university to study marine science. I would eventually like to work in conservation so that I can educate others about the problems facing our oceans.
