Academic Achievement

Air Force Sergeants Association Award Recipient (National Award) – The descriptions of this award include being in the top 10% of my AFJROTC (Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) class and demonstrating outstanding qualities in military leadership, discipline, character, and citizenship., Recipient – 1 Year
JROTC Deputy Commander – JROTC stands for Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. I have been apart of this program since my freshman year. Our mission is to develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community. We have 95 cadets in our unit and I, along with our Group Commander, Senior Assistant, and our Squadron Commanders, help guide the cadets towards academic and physical achievement., Vice President – 1 Year
PMEA (Pennsylvania Music Educators Association) Honors Jazz Band – Chosen as 3rd Chair out of 6 other auditioning Alto Saxophonists., 3rd Chair Alto Saxophone – 1 Year
National Honors Society – Created a service project in second year to make Christmas cards during the holiday season for the local Assisted Living Centers., Member – 2 Years
JROTC Kitty Hawk Air Society – This is an Honors Society within the JROTC. We encourage cadets within JROTC to pursue academic achievement and become more involved within their community by creating service projects and offering tutoring services for those in need., Vice President (1 year) and Member (2 years) – 3 Years

Extracurricular Activities

JROTC Drill Team – The Drill Team focuses on perfecting the military, specifically Air Force, marching sequences and movements. Earned many 1st place awards at regional competitions over the 3 years. Led the Academic Team, which focuses on facts and general knowledge about the Air Force/military, to 1st place., Member (2 years) and Captain of Academic Team (1 year) – 3 Years
JROTC Raiders Team – The Raiders Team focuses on physical achievement through physical exercises and teamwork., Member – 1 Year
JROTC Joint Leadership Academic Bowl (JLAB) – JLAB is an all-service national academic bowl made specifically for JROTC students. JLAB lets cadets develop the values of citizenship and leadership through academic competition., Member – 2 Years
Korean Martial Art, WTSDA (World Tang Soo Do Association) – 1st Degree Black Belt, appearing for 2nd Degree Black Belt Test in mid March 2023, Captain of the Creativity Team (2 years), achieved 1st place in the Creativity Team and individually achieved 1st Place in Forms, 1st Place in Weapons, and 3rd place in Sparring during the last year’s Regional Tournament. Assist in teaching beginners classes for the last 4 years at the Keystone Martial Arts school., Member (7.5 years) and Captain of Creativity Team (2 years) – 3 Years
Mars Marching Band – Participated in the marching band as an Alto Saxophone player. Earned the position of Section Leader and a Solo during the 2021 season. The Mars Marching Band has earned continuous 1st Place Awards at our PIMBA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Marching Band Association) regional competitions., Member (2 years) and Alto Saxophone Section Leader (1 Year) – 3 Years

Community Involvement

Pedal2Success Inc. (Non-profit organization) – Board member of the Pedal2Success executive team and worked in the capacity of Secretary since 2020. Pedal2Success is a non-profit organization that gives educational and financial aid to underprivileged girls around the world by providing them bicycles as a mode of transportation to reach school. My role is to handle communications and plan and execute fundraising events. We organize golf outings and a Grow-For-A-Cause event which focuses on selling vegetables & flowers seedlings to raise money for the cause. I also conducted a Saxophone performance at a cultural event to help raise funds. So far, our organization has donated more than 130 bicycles to needy students of rural parts of India., Secretary – 3 Years
Wounded Warrior Project – Ambassador of this organization since 2022. This charity focuses on helping veterans who were injured in action following the September 11, 2001 attacks. I have organized and raised more than $300 during the Mini-Golf-For-Major-Cause event in 2022. This event was held at our local mini golf place, we held a fundraiser to raise money from ticket sales during the Memorial day weekend., Student Ambassador – 2 Years
Christmas/Valentine’s Cards for Local Nursing Homes – To lift the spirits of those isolated from their families during Covid, I found a way to spread some “Christmas Joy” by making around 100 cards for our local Assisted Living Center. This was recognized in the Cranberry Eagle, a local newspaper. The story was titled “Freshman lifts spirits of nursing home residents”. Later in 2022/2023, this motivated me to extend this project and make cards annually with the help of the National Honors Society and JROTC., Solo Project (1 year) and later a Project Leader (1 year) – 2 Years
JROTC Community Service – Because JROTC is an organization involved with our community, we plan many community service events and fundraisers for our unit. Throughout my 3 years in the program, I have gotten 187.5 Community Service hours. This includes flag raising/retirement ceremonies, football game parking, Football game Colorguard, crowd control for school events, ushering at school plays, helping out at our local downtown’s museum, flag planting for remembrance of 9/11, playing Taps at a small banquet, and even visiting our country’s veterans at the Veterans Breakfast Club., Member – 3 Years

Plans

I am committed to join the US Air Force as a future Air Force pilot or US Space Force as Space Operations Officer. I wish to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Science as I am passionate about space exploration. This summer, I hope to expand my leadership ability by attending the USAFA Summer Seminar and the American Legion Girls State (both decision pending). I plan to continue to work with Pedal2Success Inc, to help underprivileged students around the world.
