I founded the Youth Research Initiative, a 501c3 nonprofit with the goal to transform research access and education to the youth population. At YRI, we harness the power of knowledge and mentorship, to inspire the next generation of researchers, innovators, and change-makers by introducing youth research to thousands of kids around the world. We have mentored a collective 90 low-income kids, and spoken at various schools in countries such as Romania and Korea. Through our 3 projects (Project Inspire, Project Pathways, and Project Empower), we have developed various tools that students in the science research community actively use. Plans
My grandfather faces Parkinson’s head-on every day. It’s not the disease’s limitations that motivate me, but his perseverance despite the motor disabilities and lifestyle changes he faces. His resilience inspires me to push forward in my research, endeavors, and goals. If he can persevere with a smile, then I can too. Hope has been his guiding light, and in the future, I aspire to empower others through my nonprofit and as a computational neuroscientist, advancing accessible care and education.
