Outstanding Young Citizen Awardees

2025 Outstanding Young Citizens

Congratulations to our Outstanding Young Citizens!

Virgin, Olivia

Thomas Jefferson High School, 12

I plan to attend a 4-year University to peruse a degree in musical theater or business. I am still waiting on my decisions from my musical theater applications, but I recently got into the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State University, which is my current top option. After college (if I am a musical theater major) I plan to move to New York City to pursue musical theater and audition for Broadway performances. If I am a business major, I am interested in management or real estate development.

Wilson, Owen

Fox Chapel Area High School, 11

I plan to attend a 4 year university to study either mechanical engineering or industrial engineering. In college, I hope to continue track and field, throwing the discus.

Winkler, Emma

Oakland Catholic High School, 12

I plan to go to college to study Biology and Health Sciences, then pursue medical school, with a dream of becoming a pediatric anesthesiologist!

Wray, Mackenzie

Norwin High School, 12

I will attend Kent State University with a major in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Fashion Media. I will be a part of their Honors College and plan to do at least one semester abroad. During my semester abroad, I hope to learn more about other cultures and their interactions with one another. I intend to continue my leadership and community service through student organizations and philanthropy. After college, I plan to obtain a job in the marketing field of the fashion industry.

Wyant, Natalie

Derry Area Senior High School, 12

Currently, my plans are to attend St. Francis University and major in chemistry. I want to pursue a PhD and take the graduate chemistry program at Carnegie Mellon University. If I am able to, I would also like to minor in art. Eventually, I hope to become a professor and teach post-secondary education. However, my plans may change, and I have always kept an open mind to any other possibilities and opportunities like engineering or research.

Yeasted, Gavin

Bishop Canevin Catholic High School, 11

I would like to join the Navy and become an electrician. Serving my country while learning the electrical field is really important to me. I really look forward to working on the naval ships and submarines.

Yonker, Casie

West Allegheny High School, 12

I plan to attend a 4 year University and major in Biomedical Engineering. I want to keep my soccer ambitions alive by coaching youth soccer in my community. My dream Biomedical Engineering goal is to get a Masters degree and regenerate tissue for burn victims.
