This Summer I will be attending a week long conference at Northwestern University learning about Medicine and Health Care through the National Student Leadership Conference. After graduating from Shady Side Academy I hope to attend either Colby or Smith College, majoring in Math and Chemistry while continuing my soccer career. My dream after college is to attend Medical School and pursue a career in Orthopedic Surgery. This Honor and Scholarship would help me fulfill my dreams.

I’ve been accepted to the Princeton University class of 2024 and plan to matriculate. I’m passionate about journalism and have enjoyed editing my school newspaper and authoring pieces for local outlets such as PublicSource and even the Trib, so I may pursue it professionally. I’m interested in urban and labor history; I’ll likely major in history at Princeton. I also plan on staying politically engaged, continuing to work on campaigns and perhaps one day running for local office.

The impact of my father’s fight to overcome cancer has driven my desire to become a physician, conduct research to improve cancer treatments and ultimately find a cure for cancer. This fall, I will attend Cornell, double-major in biology/psychology, while competing as a decathlete at the NCAA Division I level. My commitment to community will grow stronger with positions of higher leadership in Habitat for Humanity, serving at food banks and shelters, as well as volunteer youth coaching.

I will attend Messiah College to major in actuarial science, with either a double major or minor in computer science, while continuing to run cross country and track. After I receive my degree, I plan to pursue a post-graduate degree in data science. I want to use my math, computer, and analysis skills to make the world around me safer and better place.

After graduation I plan to further my education as a double major in political science and economics with a minor in Arabic studies. I hope to be involved in the world around me in every way possible through service and take my love of fighting for others into law school. I plan to continue as a civil rights attorney invested in the rights of women and children in the Middle East and Northern Africa. Eventually, I will run for political office and one day become President of the United States.

I also plan to partake in travel abroad programs in order to enhance my knowledge in the field and the world around me. I hope to continue my passions such as Model UN and student government as well as continuing to play the violin and the saxophone. I also plan to continue my athletics throughout my collegiate career.

I plan to attend college and major in Biology. Eventually, I would like to go to medical school and become a forensic pathologist. I also plan to continue cantoring at Saint Vincent Basilica Parish because I love singing. What I have learned about myself senior year especially is how much I love helping others and the community. I have also always had a passion for science and specifically biology. No matter where I end up, I hope to continue helping people in my community.

After high school, I plan on attending college for engineering. I adore my math and science classes at school and I try to be involved in the most activities relating to them. I was inspired to become an engineer after being taught by my sophomore geometry teacher. She is a former engineer and has had the biggest impact on my STEM education. I aspire to be just like her one day. Right now, my “dream” school that I am working towards is Carnegie Mellon University.

I also have received nominations to attend 3 United States Service Academies, but no appointment yet. Therefore, I really don’t know what I am going to do until I receive all information. I also have been accepted to Washington and Jefferson’s program for a bachelors/medical school degree with Lecom). Decision Unknown.

I hope to attend the honors colleges of PSU, Clemson, or University of South Carolina. At each school, my declared major is Microbiology on the Pre-Med track. Following undergraduate school, I hope to attend Medical School and specialize in Emergency Medicine. After a medical career, I intend to apply to NASA’s aerospace training program as an medical specialist. If possible, this would lead to an aerospace-based research career as an experimental physician.
